Hollywood Alive The variety show genre in Hollywood was a wonderful time for all. Different acts, singers, comedians, magicians and the like took the stage with only one goal - to entertain. May say the variety show is dead - but not on Hollywood Alive. A group of dedicated high school students need a location to stage a live show event, but the only theater they can find is in very poor repair. No problem - let's just renovate the theater and the show must go on. Filmed at the famous Ivar Theater in Hollywood, HOLLYWOOD ALIVE gathers together various acts and puts on a Vegas-style spectacle complete with the characters, setbacks and triumphs only found on the stage. Stand-Up Sit-Down I've always loved game shows - and the harder the better. I created Stand-Up Sit-Down to be the "Hardest Game Show on Television". How so? Contestants must create improvisational comedy instantaneously with no time to prepare from a pre-determined randomly drawn topic. The audience members ARE the judges and have been given responders to vote yea or nay - continuously. Get too low a response and you're out of there. Go off-topic and you might get a pie in the face. The comedian contestant with the most accumulated stage time wins. It's that simple - or is it?. Hosted by KTLA's Mark Kriski with veteran announcer Al Underwood, SUSD proves to be overwhelming to some contestants as they crash and burn - and oh how funny. Three rounds determine the winner.
